Brian Shepard – CEO & Founder
Brian Shepard is the CEO & Founder of 7 Cheetahs. Brian has extensive experience in the tech space and has started and built several tech companies for over twenty years. Brian is the sole founder of Tenzing Managed IT Services. He scaled the company to over $15 Million in revenue on an annual basis and employed 80 staff members.
Brian has been recognized on prestigious lists such as Top 40 Under 40 and Canada’s Fastest Growing Companies. In addition to his own entrepreneurial ventures, Brian acts as a mentor for up and coming entrepreneurs and has helped over a dozen entrepreneurs develop and scale their start-ups.
Cole Peterson – Chief Technology Officer
Cole Peterson is our Chief Technology Officer at 7 Cheetahs. With over fifteen years of experience in the design and implementation of fault tolerant and time sensitive software, Cole brings a wealth of knowledge to the 7 Cheetahs team. Driven by a passion for continuous improvement, he takes pride in providing the very highest quality software.
Cole comes to us from the high paced world of real time audio processing where he led the development of multiple products, including an award winning digital signal processor. Besides his accomplishments in the closed source world, Cole played a major role in the development of the Milan networking protocol.
Kayla Shepard – Business Operations Manager
Kayla Shepard is our Business Operations Manager at 7 Cheetahs. Kayla brings her passion for startups, business models and operational excellence to the 7 Cheetahs team where she leads all finance and operational efforts.
Kayla has her Honors Business Administration degree from the Ivey Business School. While at Ivey, Kayla completed the Certificate in Entrepreneurship program and was a recipient of the Don Lang Scholarship for Entrepreneurship.
Jonathan Gaba – Quantitative Researcher
Jonathan Gaba is a Quantitative Researcher at 7 Cheetahs. Jonathan combines his passion for the financial markets with his technical expertise to contribute to quantitative data analysis, software development and the research and development of trading strategies.
Jonathan recently completed his Bachelors of Science degree with a major in Physics at the University of British Columbia where he focused his studies on particle/quantum physics, mathematics and computer programming. Jonathan has previous experience in the applied electromagnetics research laboratory at UBCO along with multiple years of experience developing personal equity trading strategies.
Horatio He – Quantitative Researcher
Horatio He is a Quantitative Researcher at 7 Cheetahs. Horatio has a keen interest in the fundamentals of the financial markets and is self-taught in algorithmic trading, backtesting and indicator development.
Horatio completed his Masters of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering Nanotechnology and his Bachelors of Science in Honors Physics at the University of Waterloo. Prior to joining the 7 Cheetahs team, Horatio worked as a Firmware Engineer where he prototyped and developed firmware for hybrid and electric vehicle propulsion systems.
Lizzie Hnatiuk – Quantitative Researcher
Lizzie Hnatiuk is a Quantitative Researcher at 7 Cheetahs. Lizzie is passionate about data science and artificial intelligence, as well as both public and private financial markets; she uses her technical skill in the research and development of trading techniques and software construction.
Lizzie has recently completed both her B.Sc in Artificial Intelligence and her Masters of Business Management at UBC Vancouver. Prior to joining the team at 7 Cheetahs, she has worked as a researcher and software developer with multiple startups focused on the development of AI in multiple sectors. She also has prior experience with private financial markets, as a venture analyst for early stage, AI-focused startups.
Stephanie Hamilton – Quantitative Researcher
Stephanie Hamilton is a Quantitative Researcher with a strong interest in using mathematical concepts to solve complex research problems. At 7 Cheetahs she applies these interests to financial statistical analysis and constructing trading strategies.
Stephanie completed her BSc and MSc in Applied Mathematics at the University of British Columbia and specialized in discrete optimization. She has worked on numerous research projects in multiple fields of mathematics, one of which involved developing a software to find solutions to one of the most computationally difficult problems in mathematics and computer science.
